Program Overview
This two-day program will bring together health professionals, legal experts, elected officials, and journalists, as well as responders and survivors of September 11, 2001, the worst attack on American soil since Pearl Harbor.
Thursday morning presentations will highlight the health effects of the toxins at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the Shanksville crash site and the lifesaving medical monitoring and treatment that responders and survivors receive through the World Trade Center Health Program Clinical Centers of Excellence and National Provider Network. The Program serves more than 110,000 responders and survivors in every state across the country. Thursday afternoon, there will be a discussion about the evolution and impact of the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund.
Friday’s program will gather elected officials, advocates, and the journalists who covered their efforts to pass crucial measures, including the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act in 2010, reauthorization of the WTC Health Program in 2015, and reauthorization and full funding of the Victim Compensation Fund in 2019.
