What information do we collect?

911 Health Watch Inc. collects personal information from you when you sign up for email alerts, become a member of 911 Health Watch Inc., respond to a survey or fill out a form.

Since we are trying to help serve those who are sick, injured and dying because of their exposure to toxins at Ground Zero and renew and expand the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act of 2010, we ask our members to provide us with information about their experiences at and near Ground Zero. We ask for information such as: name, address, phone number, email, if you are a union member, if so what union, if you were at Ground Zero, what did you do there, how long were you there and are you participating in the programs created by the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act.

What do we use your information for?

Any of the information we collect from you may be used in one of the following ways:

  • To better understand the 9/11 responder, survivor and volunteer community.
  • To better understand how the James Zadroga, 9/11 Health and Compensation Act is performing and serving the needs of those exposed to the toxins at ground Zero.
  • To keep the 9/11 community better informed of developments in the programs in the legislation.
  • To help 911 Health Watch to better inform policy makers of the impact of the legislation and how its programs are performing.
  • To send you updates, respond to inquiries, and/or other requests or questions.

How do we protect your information?

911 Health Watch Inc. uses industry accepted data collection and security methods in an attempt to ensure the secure collection and safekeeping of user information.

Do we use cookies?

Yes. Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer’s hard drive through your web browser (if you allow) that enables the site’s or service provider’s systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information.

We use cookies to compile aggregate data (not individualized) about site traffic and site interaction so that we can offer better site experiences and tools in the future.

Do we disclose any information to outside parties?

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personally identifiable information to outside parties with the following exceptions:

We will share information with our sister organization, Citizens for the Extension of the James Zadroga Act Inc. Citizens for the Extension of the James Zadroga Act Inc., maintains a virtually identical privacy policy.

If we are asked to attempt to get assistance for an individual responder, survivor or volunteer we may, with the individual’s permission, share that person’s personal information that we have collected from the website or other information we have obtained with the entity or entities we are seeking help from on the individual’s behalf.

We may release statistics or statistical information in the aggregate, compiled from the data provided, but we will not publicly disclose any personally identifiable information without permission.

We may release personally identifiable information and/or non-personally-identifiable information if either are required to do so by law, or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with state or federal law or to respond to a court order, subpoena, or search warrant.

911 Health Watch Inc. uses third party vendors to provide certain services, such as maintaining our website and database and accepting contributions on our behalf. We share relevant personal information with those vendors, all of whom have agreed to keep this information confidential and to use it only to perform requested services for 911 Health Watch Inc.

Financial Information

911 Health Watch Inc. and/or its vendor may obtain credit card information in processing donations, but neither we nor our vendors retain that information after it is processed.

Subscribing and Unsubscribing

When you sign up as a member of 911 Health Watch Inc., we automatically add you to our email list to keep you informed of developments with the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act and the programs to help responders and survivors created by the Act.

Every mass email that 911 Health Watch, Inc. sends contains a link at the bottom that allows you to quickly unsubscribe.  Or you can email us at ben.chevat@911healthwatch.org or use this web form and request that you no longer receive emails from us.

Our website contains links to other websites.  911 Health Watch Inc. is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content on such sites.  We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our website and to read the privacy policies of each website that they visit.  This Privacy Policy applies only to information collected through our 911 Health Watch Inc. website.

Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act

Our website is directed to people who are at least 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone under 13 years of age.   Please contact us at ben.chevat@911healthwatch.org or use this web form, if you believe that we have personal information about anyone under 13 years old and we will promptly remove all such information from our servers.
