Petition to include “Kidney Damage”

Last week, the WTC Health Program posted in the Federal Register a Notice , that responds to a petition received by the Administrator of the World Trade Center Health Program on January 22, 2014 requesting the addition of “kidney damage” (Petition 003) to the List of WTC-Related Health Conditions.

In the Notice that was published, Dr. Howard, the World Trade Center Health Program Administrator, states that he has not found sufficient scientific evidence to conduct an analysis of whether to add kidney damage and/or disease to the list of covered conditions by the program at this time

This does not mean that “Kidney damage” will never be covered by the program; it only means that there is not enough evidence to do so at this time, according to Dr. Howard.

New Outreach Materials page on World Trade Center Health Program Website

The World Trade Center Health Program has created a new resource section with outreach materials on their webpage.

This has links to print materials (most translated into Spanish, Chinese, and Polish) and member videos. They hope that these print materials will be helpful in educating 9/11 Responders and Survivors about the program and the benefits that are available.

The new Outreach Promotional materials are meant for organizations that want to disseminate information about the program but can be used by individuals as well to share with fellow 9/11 Responders and Survivors. The Web page has links to promotional materials such as posters, palm cards, post cards, etc. and short videos (testimonials, PSAs).

Also, they have added several new videos to the member stories page.

You can also click to the Outreach Materials section from the “Resources” tab on the homepage.
