Last week an NYPD officer, Dennis Guerra, died in a New York City hospital after being injured on the job. Guerra and his partner were overcome by smoke after they responded to an apartment building fire.

9/11 workers fund gets another manager to oversee 75 employees amid slow dole frustration
The $2.8 billion fund for sick 9/11 workers and their families has set aside awards for just 502 claims out of 6,702 submissions while 20,000 are believed to be eligible.
